Elevating utility with artistry in the heart of Washington, DC.
The difference between done and done well radiates in the details of this project in Washington, DC, where the client’s singular desire for a pool had taken root in only one dimension prior to our arrival. Driven solely by utility, the client wanted a standard pool in the middle of the yard for the kids, but our design team elevated this goal when it paired the desire for a pool with an artistic vision — one that would end up creating the heart of their home, a focal point for memory-making. We embraced the challenge with design ingenuity, inspired by both form and function, all while considering the existing landscape. Our solution? A concrete pool seamlessly integrated into the raised patio and steps, defying expectations by ascending to the patio level. The custom pool features a distinctive exposed beam that serves as both seating and a cocktail rail, adding a unique touch to the design. The result is a striking transformation alongside a reminder of how simple utility, when merged with artistry, transcends the ordinary.
