This Bethesda, MD, project orchestrated a captivating transformation, turning a once-dark and confined backyard into a welcoming haven that radiates warmth and thoughtful design. Facing challenges of a tight space, innovative solutions were implemented – a retaining wall and strategic grading overcame drainage and elevation hurdles, illuminating the backyard as a true asset to the property. Unique design highlights include an enchanting Weeping Styrax tree and a hornbeam hedge, offering both architectural interest and lush privacy. Wide L-shaped steps and a stadium-style seating arrangement create an expansive and inviting atmosphere for gatherings, making the revitalized area the unequivocal heart of the home’s exterior.
