Plant of the Week: Nandina ‘Gulf Stream’

Nandina ‘Gulf Stream’ is one of the greatest compact shrubs for year-round foliage. It requires almost no pruning; only dead or broken limbs need to be removed. This Nandina variety can display a mixture of different leaf colors all at once, which will grow more vibrant from fall through winter. The foliage will vary from an intense red color, to a mixture of reds, greens, yellows, and oranges. During summer, the foliage is a dark blue-green color and extremely dense. Nandina is resistant to deer, insects, diseases, mildew, and heat.
